The STI six-speed gearbox for the US is a wide ratio 5th and 6th common to all export models. All other aspects of this box are identical to the Japanese STI box. The US gearbox is variable diff, LSD equipped and represents the very latest from Subaru.

For those of you who desire increased performance in the 90-140 mph range for big track work we have limited sets of complete internal gear sets with the closer ration 5th and 6th speeds. A simple, but careful gearbox disassembly is all that is required to fit these gear sets. Two placement shims need to be checked only during reassembly. The rest of the setup is not disturbed if factory procedures are strictly observed.

In addition to the needed parts to replace 5th and 6th gears, the $1448 cost of this kit gives you a complete internal spares kit of shift forks, synchro blocks, synchros and gears.
